DECLARATION OF BUSINESS INDEPENDENCE

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for an Independent Business to throw off the political bonds which have constrained it and to reassert the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, respect to the opinions of our community requires that we declare the causes which compel us into such action.

Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to respond, to reject that which is unjust and to form a New Covenant between the Government and the Governed.

DECLARATION: In this Spirit of Freedom that CASTLEGATE KNIFE & TOOL reopens of its own free will and accord.

WHEREAS: When news of the recent Pandemic spread around the world we chose to voluntarily close our doors for the safety and security of our community, our customers, and our staff, and

WHEREAS: During this time our community has rallied together to “flatten the curve”, avoid the overloading of our healthcare system, and reduce the immediate impact of the Coronavirus threat, and

WHEREAS: Small businesses have carried the burden of this effort more heavily than special interests, large corporations and major banks who once again received preferential treatment and largess from the Federal Government at the further cost of small business tax payers, and

WHEREAS: Non-essential Government, Academic, and Corporate staff continue to remain unconscionably fully paid at the same time that Small Business, the Self Employed and the Unemployed suffer, and

WHEREAS: Our attempts at petition and righteous redress, to Our Government has fallen on uncaring ears, and in some cases has been actively suppressed, and

WHEREAS: We refuse to become second-class citizens, beholden to the entitled class for our safety, freedom, and wellbeing, and

WHEREAS: We have the ability to operate our business in such a manner as to reduce and mitigate the risk to our Community, Customers, and Staff, and to adjust operations in a responsible and balanced manner commensurate with local conditions.

Let it be known that:

CASTLEGASTE KNIFE AND TOOL

Proudly announces that we will be OPEN FOR BUSINESS starting Wednesday April 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM at which time we will resume regular scheduled business hours.

We ask that our customers:

    1.Wear a mask to our store if they have one, if not they may purchase one from us at pre-pandemic rates.

    2.Use hand sanitizer before and after entering our store.

    3.Maintain proper social distancing while in our store.

We further ask that our customers, friends, allies, patriots and fellow business owners:

    1.Share this declaration with their friends and family.

    2.Support and encourage other small businesses to do the same.
